John Phillips had made it through TSA, had his ID checked and went through facial recognition before agents stopped him as he was boarding, he said.

He says after about five minutes in handcuffs, agents found his Georgia ID and showed him a picture of the man they were actually looking for. “He looks nothing like me, other than that he’s a white guy and I’m a white guy,” Phillips said

Delta and TSA were cooperating with ICE, so at any time through this process, ICE could have examined his ID and compared their faces and everything they needed to figure out he wasn't the guy they were looking for, but it was only after they "pinned him to the wall and put him in handcuffs" and screamed at him, did they look at his ID and decide he wasn't their guy.

What this tells us is that they went through with roughing him up, terrifying him, and inducing PTSD just because they wanted to and knew they could get away with it. They knew he wasn't the person they were looking for, but they weren't going to pass up a chance to have their fun. Sick pieces of shit.

No one cares. Let me reiterate, no one cares beyond a "thoughts and prayers" bullshit sentiment. They just go "it wasn't me so it isn't my problem" until it's them and no one helps them and they can't figure out why.

Not trying to encite violence, but until people are actually DONE with this shit it won't change and probably get worse. I don't mean hold signs, no one gives a flying crap that you're walking around with a sign. Nothing has changed from a sign since the civil rights movement.

Your blame is misplaced.

Literally 100% of all airlines, both US and EU are required to comply with TSA and European Commission individual EU countries flight security.

Compliance with TSA means allowing TSA to hand over control to ICE whenever they want and there is absolutely nothing a single airline can do about it. If you think they can, then don't fly ever again.

Except that's the neat part. There is nothing illegal about "airline x do not allow that passenger to board" as an order from TSA that's entirely legal thing. You have no "right" to fly and TSA has the completely authority to manage passengers. And this isn't new at all, we're talking Bush administration

ICE detaining and assaulting a US citizen is entirely illegal though.

I feel one issue that is being ignored is we don't know who from the airline was initially involved and what they were told. What we do know is ICE is notorious for being duplicitous.

While Delta is just another vehicle for the accumulation and concentration of wealth, its employees, the people with whom TSA and ICE directly interface, are largely everyday people like you and I. Without more information, those criticizing the actions of the airline and by extension its employees are doing such based on assumption. They're likely victims of ICE as well, if to a much lesser degree.

If you read the report or watch the video in the link, Delta never had anything to do with the arrest itself.

If an officer of TSA or European Commission individual EU countries flight security asks an airline to defer boarding or step aside, they're required, literally by law to do it:

"The ATSA gives the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) the direct authority to oversee civil aviation security, issue binding security directives to air carriers, and enforce mandatory compliance without prior notice or public comment."

The answer is literally in writing and is agreed upon internationally.

Moral or not, agreeable or not, it is the law.

For anyone who may be affected by this type of tactic: delta deals with the upgrades before the boarding process starts, and never will tell you you have to board last. If they tell you that you have to board last, be prepared for some bullshit.
