His name seems to always be connected to the wrong side of bettering society. Maybe that should be addressed next election. So wish we had a universal fast track way from local to President to call for no confidence when they repeatedly work against the public good.

But he does support in one country that isn't the USA though.

[-] Snapz@lemmy.world 5 points 4 weeks ago

Hakeem Jefferies is a problem. Maybe if we get rid of chuck schumer, we can get rid of his hospice nurse?

Someone deserves the Luigi treatment.

hope nobody expected him to. despite all the raging about trump and the repugs, he shares more of their ethics than he lets on

[-] BigDiction@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

Pathetic pauses for a god damn leader of the party. Looked like he never heard the question before.

[-] iluvlamp37@lemmy.zip 4 points 4 weeks ago

If this is the opposition party, we are doomed. This alone is not the five alarm fire, but Jeffries is obviously not going to be a fighter after they steal the midterms.

I encourage everyone to vote early take some time off of work after November 3rd and go to DC like I have planned. There’s no getting out of this without us dying for it.

[-] beastrabban@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

I wonder why? Most of our peer nations have some kind of government medical system, why are we so afraid?

Need to get the money out of politics...

[-] Malyca@lemmy.zip 3 points 4 weeks ago

Every establishment fuck has got to go. Every single one of them. I don't care if they fein support. Aipac does not wash off.

[-] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 3 points 4 weeks ago

best we can do is return ACA subsidies, and undo GOP harm.

As minority leader, he's the favorite to be the house leader should Dems gain majority in November. House leader has a lot of control in preventing proposals from coming to the house.

I don't support medicare for all

Impeaching Trump is only path to getting any legislation not vetoed, and then impeaching any replacements likely needed too. Returning ACA subsidies may be something that is a horse trade for other deficit wreckage, but his answer was not that "medicare for all is not a realistic law we can pass before 2028" It was what I quoted.

You can have DSA in your city as long as they endorse the establishment ghouls at the top.

[-] Astronut@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 weeks ago

This is the reason I’m switching from democrat to independent! These fucks are hardly better than republicans.

Some Democrats. The majority of Democrats currently in power... You gotta be precise or you'll sound like a fatalist, and your self fulfilling work will be accomplished.

[-] wpb@lemmy.world 1 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago)

Just like all the other democrats, this man is not a real democrat. A true democrat supports universal healthcare. And given that someday, in the future, a true democrat may pop into existence, the only rational choice is to vote blue, regardless of what the person on the ballot believes and whether you agree with them or not. Do your part.

I support Hakeem Jeffries. Because sure, he may not advocate for anything thay improves my material conditions, but he may at some point in the future have a change of heart. And have you seen the other guy?

[-] Triasha@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Thats a mighty big strawman you have there. Planning a bonfire?
