My apologies for the probably stupid question, I’m still trying to get a grip on the interoperability between services in the Fediverse. I have both a kbin and a Lemmy account, still checking which fits me the best. If I’m on one of them, can I follow a magazine when being on Lemmy, or the opposite?

Many thanks

In theory yes, but right now the main kbin.social website's DDoS protection solution is making it a bit wonky for Lemmy instances to properly federate with it. At least that's what I've heard as of a couple days ago. Not sure if they've got that fixed yet.

EDIT: Looks like as of yesterday, they've fixed that so it should be working correctly in theory.

It’s still wonky for me. I could easily follow from lemmy.world, but lemmy.ml could not find a magazine

Searching seems strange, but you can use the full kbin url. If its a magazine lemmy.world already knows about you can just type it direcly after the c/. ie - https://lemmy.world/c/RedditMigration@kbin.social . They are case sensitive unlike lemmy.

Thank you guys! It’s early days, but I find I playing with those Fediverse tools extremely promising!
