have you considered entering after the water warms up

[–] WeLoveCastingSpellz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 7 months ago (5 children)

how are you going to turn on the water without entering the shower cabin

[–] TheCheddarCheese@lemmy.world 48 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Have you considered growing longer arms?

[–] Hupf@feddit.de 12 points 7 months ago

Have you considered manning up a little (in a completely gender neutral way).

Alternatively, use a shower umbrella.

How fucking massive is your shower that you can't simply reach into it and grab the handle?

[–] KSPAtlas@sopuli.xyz 1 points 7 months ago

The door is opposite to the actual unit

[–] brb@sh.itjust.works 10 points 7 months ago

Aim the shower at the wall, turn it on, get out

Turn it on in the sink, then it may only take like a second in the shower (if you're lucky with your plumbing layout)

[–] LinkOpensChest_wav@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I think I need a diagram of this plumbing layout

As a shameful normie whose sink is entirely separate from my shower, I'm having a hard time picturing this

If your hot water line comes from [wherever, in my case the basement] and passes by your shower before leading to a sink, it's likely that the water by your shower will also be hot once it comes out hot at the sink.

It might be! I'll try it, thanks!

With a rope.

Why would I be inside the shower before the hot water shows up

I turn on the shower at maximum hot, undress, THEN introduce cold back to a comfy temperature and step inside.

[–] Entropywins@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

Sometimes I take my pants off before my shoes...we are not all the same

Pro tip:

Always max hot water (or hot water only if separate) to warm up shower fastest and save water. It's a win win.

Turning it 3/4 or something to desired temperature takes longer to heat up and wastes both hot and cold water.

The photo is somewhat deceptive. It's actually angled away from vertical slightly. He's resting on the wall behind him.

[–] Matriks404@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago
