I always laugh at the serving suggestion on like leggo's tortellini, ravioli extra. Serves 4 apparently. I assume that is children and not a grown-arse man

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 8 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Oh yeah. The suggested serving sizes of dim sims or whatever it is.

I feel bad when I eat 6 times the suggested serving size.

As if I’m going to stop at one hash brown!

Lmao howling at the comment I just read under an actor interview that said "she just does it for the money". My guy I hate to break it to you but everyone needs to be able to pay the bills, no ones rocking up for anything that time consuming just because.

I've just realised it's Wednesday, not Thursday. Goddammit.

I swear to God the gardener at work gets some weird satisfaction revving his petrol leaf blower. It's the most annoying, infuriating sound that makes me want to go all Liam Neeson on his ass.

God, I'm tired. The Matildas are going to have to (please God) win without me.

I think I might have a drink tonight while watching the game. The question is do I sink a couple of beers, g&ts or pull out the big guns and make margaritas? Big choices.

Just devoured this.

Most of my fizzy drink gone.

I am content.

Pizza!

Chips to come soon after resting while watching the Matildas. Come on, you can this!

  1. Going to try and ask my boss if I can work from home tomorrow, I don't think it'll happen but I'm hoping.

  2. Maybe I'll watch the sports ball. I love women so much. Like... I just, I love women.

Soxcat has been sadly quarantined to the study and bathroom (with all electronics removed as she has once almost sprayed on a laptop...) No comfy couches or the bedroom for her lest she pee on things that are significantly harder to clean. Left out a heated mat for her on low heat for 8 hours though.

Poor girl, she seems to have lost weight - she's so light! And she snoozed on my lap for over an hour and it hasn't even been 12 hours since she arrived - that's record time - but I think it's because she's being all hormonal and affectionate.

Everything came up milhouse at the gp today. I'm healthy af, ideal weight, hormone levels are exactly where they should be and my bp and ecg are so bloody normal I feel basic.

If the matlidas win and I have a nice walk along the beach in the sun it'll be perfect. Wish the game didn't start at 8pm though, there's no way I'll stay up for the whole thing.

What to eat for the game though? I think the usual rice cakes marg and low salt vegemite will do fine. Staying away from processed foods, sugar and booze are obviously doing wonders for me. After the total glum and transphobia of last week, I feel positively fucking on fire. Thanks Milho

So in preparation for the Matildas match tonight I've decided i might splurge a little on some comfort/junk food tonight.

I'm thinking maybe chips and a bottle of soft drink for tonight. It was also suggested that maybe I do a hot chocolate as well.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions, preferably not too expensive.

Trying to look up rules of soccer so I can watch the Matildas with some semi understanding, other than put ball into goals, don’t use hands. Apparently the whole world knows how to play except for me and it’s hard to find a basic video. Doesn’t matter, will be cheering anyway.

Had a manger try and scold me for something that was kind of their fault (they missed a couple of emails and a meeting invite).

I'll be riding the wings of smugness for the rest of the week.

So good news and annoying news.

I can work from home tomorrow but I have to essentially video chat/screen share the whole time with my... assistant of sorts. Like she's not an assistant but she does assist me in things. Iunno. Anyways, I'm basically giving her free reign to reply to all the emails I can't get to. Because the place I work for, one of the websites they look after you can't have just anyone logging into the emails which is annoying but I understand.

In other good news and annoying news, went to the doctor's and the doctor didn't even print of the referral and the poor receptionist was trying to print it off but it wasn't printing correctly. I got to the doctors at maybe 5:15 or so, and I only left at like 5:35. Like the receptionist was checking all the papers from this doctor and I just go "I have a feeling she didn't print it off because she thought she could email it to me." and yeah pretty much. Then I got picked up by a yank tank and I hated it. I hated getting into it, my chronic pain hated it. I just hated every second.

And now I'm overstimulated and I just want to cry and die. Possibly at the same time, maybe one after the other. And then I've gotta cook dinner, but I'm excited for dinner. I just... UGH. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk guys.

[–] FancyFeaster@lemmy.fail 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I feel you. I had to do the whole training/screen sharing thing for new hires in India. Generally I keep it to a 2 hour session and then get them to practise/slack questions in combination of “busy” work to keep them occupied. No way I could do that for a full day.

Op Shop find of the day. $6 A natural tumble faceted peridot necklace, the beads are pretty big, some flaws , yellow green but nice none the less. 👍

[–] MisssDarylC@aussie.zone 9 points 1 year ago

I've had to stop actively watching the game as it was making me too anxious.

[–] just_kitten@aussie.zone 9 points 1 year ago (6 children)

Alright, the cat's booked in for a hormone blood test tomorrow and I need to give her gabapentin tonight and tomorrow morning to sedate her beforehand. I have never given a cat pills before, let alone a squirmy one who's acting particularly wack. By the end of all this I think I'll have gone through all the hoops of being a cat mum, without ever having actually owned a cat...

That was NOT a fun 24 hours. Kiddo had his MCH nurse appointment, and his growth is not what we want it to be so that's triggered a medical review. Went to a parents group. They were all talking about their nap schedule and how they get their kiddo down. And we're like "We cant get him to sleep". Then he had a fever thanks to his vaccinations. Super common apparently, but no one told us that. So he didnt go down till 1am. Fuck me.

Have to stay up for night shift prep, so put something gay and sad on thinking I'd be alright because it takes a bit for me to get worked up, but jesus fuck! I just am so insanely lucky to have my parents and their unwavering love and support. My Dad struggled a bit but he always reminded me he loved me, and his awkwardness around the subject had nothing to do with me. I don't know man, should not have done that, going to be thinking for a while and telling my Mum I love her.

My pre game dinner/snackapoos. Nuggets, cocktail franks, chips, cheese and gravy, bbq and tomato sauce and a couple of g&ts. Also I did a little research and found I'm low on the gin so Gentleman Jack might make an appearance tonight. Also when I said post your meals I meant pictures people. PICTURES. My bad.

sigh

Wasted so much of my break time today trying to organise things for to make sure everything runs smoothly at work and nothing achieved apart from losing most of my break time today.

I'll be glad to get out of work today as soon as it all ends.
