Every two years I get the chance to go drive in Europe. I have done France and Belgium several times, and now I've added Iceland which seems to have the same rules as EU.
I like that basically every zone has a start sign and a stop sign and I appreciate that more information is conveyed by signage especially "hey dummy the next sign is informational" kind of things, but I have one really big gripe: speed limits suck. I appreciate the high limit of 130 kph, but whereas in the US you have "advisory speed limits" for corners and hazards and stuff like that, where I have driven in europe these aren't suggestions, they are the rule. This means that for those of us that get carsick we are constantly bouncing from 90 to 70 to 50 to 30 to 50 to 30 to 50 to 70 to 50 to 30 over and over and over again. Does the speed hump require 30kph? Yes. Do you need it for 50 yards on either side? Maybe no.
I also appreciate that roads are small and that driving is not prioritized, which is great, but it's hard to take a family of 4 for a few weeks to see family because... you have to rent a Dacia BIGSTER just to fit suitcases.
My hot take from all of this though: I think europeans are probably better drivers. You have to be more alert for one, but for two you have to know the EXACT size of your vehicle to navigate every parking garage, parking space, or "2 lane road" that has a truck on it.
