Tens of thousands of workers, students and dockworkers took to the streets across Italy in a nationwide general strike on Friday against soaring living costs, low wages and military spending. The general strike coincided with an international day of action against militarization and genocide which saw dockworkers across five continents and more than 110 ports take action against arms shipments to Israel. In Genoa, dockworkers blockaded the port at dawn before marching back in with some 15,000 people behind them. "Workers and students are demanding one thing," protester Valerio Villanova with Potere al Popolo said: "Money for public health, public transport, care for the environment, and wages — not bombs."

Bridges breaks down Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s ruling Foster was “justified” in opening fire, weeks after a Jackson County grand jury declined to bring charges in 18-year-old Nolan Wells’s death, saying it was “consistent with drowning.” As calls for justice for Nolan Wells and Kohen Wiley spread from HBCUs and campuses in the South to cities across the US, Bridges says families cannot expect justice from a system he argues still carries the deep racist roots of the Klan: “Our governor, Tate Reeves, was seen in a picture with Confederate flags, at Nazi parties and in blackface,” Bridges says. “These people are the Klan…. Journalist and researcher Mosaab Baba says Sudan’s “gold curse” has both the army and the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF) increasingly striking civilian targets in a neocolonial war entering its fourth year, which has already killed thousands of civilians and left millions facing famine. For the 34th consecutive year, the UN General Assembly overwhelmingly voted to condemn the U.S. economic blockade on Cuba. Lula’s comeback to victory in Brazil’s 2026 presidential election was no accident. After trailing far-right Flávio, son of imprisoned former president Jair Bolsonaro, by 2 million votes in the first round, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won the runoff by more than twice that, powered by a movement that deployed mass street mobilizations and a “Lula’s Army” WhatsApp channel to turn the race around in just three weeks. Now Flávio Bolsonaro has fled to Miami, defying a court order and claiming the vote was stolen. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez confronted Waltz over his sweeping, unsubstantiated accusations of corruption against Cuba’s leadership, calling him a liar in a heated exchange on the Assembly floor. For 33 consecutive years, the UN General Assembly has overwhelmingly voted to condemn the U.S. economic blockade on Cuba.
