Lovely photo and bird!
I was just thinking last night when I saw one in a movie that it's hard for me to imagine these owls just hanging around in the wild, they are so impressive.
We have the Great Horned Owl, which isn't so much different, so I probably just want both! I am very jealous.
Feel free to repost at !superbowl@lemmy.world as well!
Thank you! I'd love to see a Great Horned Owl. Will post this at superbowl, good idea.
I do love the Great Horns. I get to hear them, but sadly not see them, near daily at my house. There is a rescue one at a park near my work as well that I visit every so often. Amazing animals!
I did recently get to see a pair of Eagle Owls at my visit to the National Aviary earlier this year, and they were so impressive to see in person. I had seen one once before at the shore, where it was working to scare off the seagulls, but that one looked small compared to the ones at the Aviary. They had eggs as well, and I know at least one hatched shortly after my visit. I saw they had it on display, and I was a little sad to have missed that.
