Had a team member return to work today after a lengthy holiday. It's been so peaceful without him. Hopefully he has another job lined up and can fudge off into the sunset.
This is how my team probably feel about me not working ahaha
Does your team actively avoid interacting with you AND only communicates through email and teams messages?
If not, you're safe.
I think in the two weeks leading up to his holiday, I was the only person who spoke with him.
I have been burned many times from not having stuff clearly in writing. While I don't personally have a problem with communicating face-to-face, I absolutely understand why someone would.
Hey look, all my 'official' comms are in writing of some form. I was talking about regular chats and such. No one wants to talk him cause he's just rude and irritating.
Ahh. I had it backwards. I thought he avoided everyone else.
Yeah sorry, I realized my statements were unclear :)
We WISH he avoided people, although maybe he'll start getting the message shortly.
is this a bad thing? I've got a college who ignores us IRL and over teams.
I'd take a longer who at least replies on teams to the rude bastard I've got in my office.
It's not a bad thing overall, but it does depend on the reasons. This bloke is just hard work and irritates kind of everyone. Harder to irritate in writing.
ah fair enough. Isn't him actively avoiding everyone kind of a good thing then? Or is it more just a "dragging down the overall mood" type deal?
I think I wasn't too clear...we all avoid him cause he's irritating. If he calls anyone, it's usually ignored and messages and emails get sent.
And he definitely brings everyone's mood down.
Sounds like a BJJ job to me. For morale.
In my temporary managerial capacity, that would be unwise.
yeah I think the context might've been missing in the original comment haha
