Complaining about money and wishing I could penny pinch better
I’ve been buying some things I’ve needed and watching the bank balance go down… I really hate the way having disabilities, sensitivities or food intolerances adds unnecessarily to the budget.
If everything was default and my body worked I could just have porridge or eggs for breakfast every morning, sandwich/hotdog/leftovers for lunch, and eat a batch made chickpea curry or stew for dinner until it was finished. I could have ramen. Beans and rice.
Edit: I could walk around gathering fruit from public trees. Bike to the op shop.
Buy an 8 pack of whatever bar soap was cheapest and use it head to toe. The dirt cheap highly scented laundry detergent. Wear literally whatever was on clearance without discomfort or alterations or be physically large enough to shop in the men’s section.
If it wouldn’t lead to being targeted (perhaps violently in my area/circumstances) I might be able to buzz my head at home to not need to pay or fuss around with technique on home haircuts.
It’s really blocking the financial min-maxing I could be doing.
The highly scented cheap laundry detergent could set off my cat’s asthma as well. (I hate how unscented basics are more expensive even in homebrand - if you can find that.)
And if she wasn’t allergic to chicken I could have her on cheaper brands or on proper prescription renal food 😭 As it is I’m looking at a really swanky brand that isn’t prescription but happens to be lower in phosphorus to try and slow her kidney disease.
I would cook the nutritionist diet for her but she refuses to eat it and my physical capabilities are limited
This is what all this money fretting is in aid of. Making sure I have the financial stability to weather what difficult times come.
