If you’ve ever read a Gartner or McKinsey report, you might think management consulting was the precise use case for a BS machine given to fabrication. Several startups pitched replacing consulting tasks with AI last year. Then the big consulting companies bought them. [Sifted, 2023]

Boston Consulting Group estimates 20% of their 2024 revenue will come from from AI. IBM has $1 billion in sales commitments for AI consulting and its Watsonx chatbot platform. Accenture did $300 million in AI-related sales in 2023. McKinsey says 40% of its 2024 business will be in AI. [NYT*, *archive]
