This sounds like it's going to lock me out of my own phone every time I drive out of town for a few days

Well, if it's designed well, it would initially but eventually "catch on" over time. Kinda like how the FP sensors improve over time of successful unlocks.

Ofc this is Google we're talking about so that's like a 50/50 lmfao

Ah, so I'll only get stranded without a phone 3 or 4 times before it catches on? That is of course assuming I go to the same places every time I travel, and connect to the same wifi networks every time I'm there... I'm already exhausted by this thing and it hasn't even been released yet

Meanwhile, continuing the pattern with all other Google apps or tools, if it's well received and works great but doesn't make them a ton of new profit, they'll abandon it.
