Cat ramblesI’ve ordered some d-mannose from Amazon in desperation. I don’t know what the safe dose is for cats, it’s only been used for humans and it’s only really effective for E. coli…

But the cranberry extract probiotic for cats I bought smells foul. It has to be mixed in water and syringed into Melbcat’s mouth (otherwise it’s refused) and it stains her white fur and everything surrounding us red/purple when she spits it out.

I haven’t been remembering to give her the lactose free yogurt with the specific good bacteria either but I’ll see if I can get another tub and coax her to eat a spoonful a day.

In combination with antibiotic treatment of course.

I’m getting really worried. Melbcat is going well aside from this but is almost 17 now and she just can’t seem to shake this infection.

I hope she can pull through, she sounds so tough! And you're doing amazing caring for her, you're doing your best and it is more than enough! Sending you and Melbcat all my love

Thanks. I just wish there was something more I could do

We can only do our best for our family members. We cannot beat ourselves up if things go awry; you're there for her, caring for her and loving her, and that's all that matters!
