I think any non-regional and non-special TLD is fine. Some have rules associated. I thought
.movie
had special rules about only lasting for a specific amount of time but it looks like I may have been wrong (not sure where I got the idea and I can't find anything to back that up)..us

has the "rule" that it is HTTPS only because*.dev
is in the HSTS always-on list by default but that's not related to the domain itself.
