They've finally installed the new locks into the doors. Typical bad news: no deadbolts. Not even a proper lock. It has the same locks as on my toilet door, except rather than being openable with a butter knife, they're openable with a key.

To make up for the lack of a deadbolt, they're installing these fugly looking metal plates outside the locks. They're going to jutt out from the wall outside the door, with the goal being that you can't open it up with a bank card. Doesn't help too much when they purchased the cheapest doors Bunnings sell, and also the flimsiest looking locks I've ever seen.

They can't even be locked from the outside. When I want to lock my door, I have to push the little nub button inside and pull the door closed.

There's more bad news: they knocked back my request to have these style of locks fitted on the bathroom door because apparently my bathroom qualifies as "a shared zone". I asked what he meant by that because my bathroom is just for me, and is not shared with anybody else. He said he was told there will be "a couple of new kids moving in shortly". That's not good, because the house is a 2 kid property. That's why we each have 2 bedrooms and a bathroom/toilet each. If what Mr. Locksmith says is true, I'm going to be kicked out of my spare bedroom and probably have to share my bathroom and toilet.

I hope he's just misinformed. That's a bad omen if true

It’s still possible to get around that style of lock.

Ughh. Fingers crossed you leave these clowns and soar.

I've been torn on whether to just stop whinging and be grateful they've actually done something finally or to keep battling

They're never going to listen to me, and tomorrow marks day 60 since I returned and started dealing with all this BS. I'm running out of fight :/
