The rifle had a lock for the bayonet that allowed you to reverse the bayonet and stow it in place. Smart design, but two soldiers managed to lock two rifles onto the same bayonet, requiring them to be drilled apart. It's a moderately famous example design engineers use to highlight the importance of UAT.
