I was reading something about how this kind of thing was common place once upon a time. We’ve been in a period of internet stagnation. iPhone or android, gmail, Facebook, reddit ect have all been stable for so long. But 20 years ago you changed email providers at the drop of a hat. New things came and dethroned old things all the time. We just got used to the stability I guess.

Yeah I don't feel too bad about it. Not as much as how I miss MSN messenger. Internet things will come and go, which is why I still buy books and CDs, or at least download music and movies I like.

True. I was watching a YT vid to try and understand the situation and while I still don't totally understand it, certainly sound like they sort of brought it on themselves so if it all becomes history it's probably a lesson to be learnt.
