They've been lying about this for pretty much all of modern history.

The Civil War wasn't because the North wanted to outlaw slavery in the south, it's because the south wanted the federal government to treat Black people in the North as escaped slaves and capture them to be sent to the south.

You can't negotiate with fascists for the same reason you couldnt just let Hitler have Poland, we can just let Israel have Gaza, or we can't just let have Putin have Ukraine.

It doesn't matter what they ask for now. If they ever get it then they immediately started the process again with something else. You have to draw a line somewhere to stop them

We kinda did just let Hitler have Poland though. It's called the phony war. The UK and France had both promised assistance to Poland and then just didn't help them.

Yeah...

That's why for 80 years it's been used as an example of why we can't appease facists...

I mean more so the entirety of WW2 but not really specifically Poland. Most people have completely forgotten about the phoney war.
