BummerFeeling stressed out. The issue of this homeless guy isn’t solved - the services won’t help or come when he’s there, he refuses help, police don’t care because it’s ’public property’ or if they do he just walks away from a welfare check…

He’s ranting and raving and throwing lit cigarettes in an area of dried vegetation and wooden fences near houses. Really mentally unwell with violent outbursts and has aggressively harassed me before. And is now regularly drinking on the bench right outside the window of the room where I sleep - sometimes sleeping there.

He ignored the huge piece of cardboard I left that would have allowed him to sleep elsewhere, isn’t moving to a nearby abandoned flat with a sheltered porch, and it isn’t safe to give him anything.

He doesn’t want help, has possibly already been kicked out of a nearby halfway house for verbally and possibly physically abusing others, and I’m afraid he’s going to start a fire or might attack me. It isn’t safe to approach him to help or direct him elsewhere.

It goes against my morals but if I can’t do anything positive about this situation I’m probably going to have to start thinking of ways to repel him :(

Have you made a complaint to the council? You need to get rid of that bench anyway you can.

I’ve been through this before. Council is pretty useless and I often get judged as if I was just being a bitch to someone disadvantaged (rather than responding to a threat). I can try but that leaves a trail if something were to “happen” to the bench.

Mmm yummy.

I hate that I have to think about this stuff. I really just want to live peacefully and be left alone
