This is something I've been working on for about 18 months now, and it definitely helps.
When I get home from work my phone goes in a different room and I don't touch it at all. No laptop or iPad either. I usually read once our 5 year old is in bed and the dishes and chores are done and I get the chance to sit down.
I flew to North Qld and back a few weeks ago, no devices or screens.
My 'online' time is during breaks/lunch at work and that's it. I deleted Instagram a couple of years ago and haven't had Facebook since 2008.
I drive to work and back with NOTHING playing, no podcasts or music or anything, 3-4 hours of driving per day.
Being 'in the moment rather' than being attached to a screen or 'content' has really helped. Although I've found it DOES make me irrationally angry when I walk around (or even am at other family member's houses) and everyone is glued to their screens. Not to mention the at least 1 person a month I see watching YouTube while driving on the freeway...
