She was never like this at all - sure did a few hapless things like not give enough notice for trades stuff and bringing her partner in on inspections but was always positive and easy to deal with. She loved my plants! This seems very uncharacteristic. I'm going to guess her finances are in trouble.
With the job I'm keeping I prefer working in the office. It won't be boring as there will be some site inspection work coming up, so living close to office makes it easy to grab a pool car to head off.
She doesn’t seem to be up with tenants rights and stuff from how you describe things.
I think one thing she may not bank on is if you leave and she can’t rent it out she’ll get no income from it at all.
Ah ok. That’s a plus for sure then if you don’t need to WFH.
I don't think she is aware of tenant's rights at all, since this is her first rodeo with an IP and especially without an agent. Which means it's also on her to advertise and vet new tenants etc. I thought she'd want to work with me too so that she could avoid losing income, but I guess she'd now rather risk it. She'll definitely get someone in but I'm not sure it'll be as quickly as she thinks.
And good luck also if when she's showing the place, the derros down the road start acting up lol. I kind of hope they do, and that next door's disabled adult kid starts moaning and banging on things...
