It can range in time for people thats for sure. Theres also different quality of learning. Its very important not to accidentally learn mistakes. It takes time and effort to build a habit.
I think you are trying to make the statement here that you have a justifiable fear of bugs, and that you are permitted to kill them on sight because of it.
This is essentially the justifiable racism defense but with bugs. Would you argue the same way about say a minority group if you had been victimized by minorities repeatedly as a child?
Obviously you aren't saying racist things here, but you are saying there is a whole group of living things that you kill on sight because you had some bad experiences with them many years ago.
Justify, not really. Just saying after all the Child Therapy the impulse to destroy them for me is an improvement over the crippling fear. Based on my slow improvement with other phobias I going to need a really strong motivation to change any behavior. From my perspective, nothing is lost if every bug/rodent is removed from my home. Since there is a whole job market to remove them from homes. I guess the question I have to ask is why let them live?
