I have now come to realise that it takes about 4 years of early mornings to ruin my usual sleep schedule. No matter how late I sleep, how tired/exhausted I am or whether it’s a day off, unless I’m unusually unwell, I cannot sleep in the same way I used to.

This is an annoying revelation. Even napping, which I do very poorly, is worse now.

I need to find a way around this. I need more hours.

You have to find your natural sleep length. For most people it's between 7 - 9 hrs. Food, alcohol, caffeine even water plays a big part in how well we sleep. Higher the stress level the shittier the sleep, the tired we are during the day.
