We have lost, democracy has lost, today the American people have lost to tyranny. All the Americans can do now is collect themselves and reorganize, the next four years will be the toughest years in American history and its effects will ripple across the world.

the next four years

We really may have just voted for the last time. I'll be thrilled if this only sucks for the next 4 years.

Really though we're fucked for the next 30-40 years based on the Supreme Court alone. Expecting Roberts to retire while Trump can name a younger, more bat-shit replacement. Possibly the same for Thomas and Alito.

I'm expecting 2-3 retirements as well to be replaced by true believer Christian fascists in their 30s. This Supreme Court has been terrible but if this comes to pass we will truly be fucked until the end of the Republic.

It won't be the last vote. Elections will just become more and more of a sham as Republicans restore white "democracy". But the show won't end, and it'll be hard to say where we reached the point of no return. IMHO it could have been as early as Nixon.

That's if it's only 4 years....

Welcomed tyranny*

"Sure we're all fucked, but at least by not voting I defended the white man's natural right to rule! We were never gonna vote for an uppity black woman who's better than the alternative by every conceivable measure, and the Democratic party failed us for not acknowledging that. If we ever get elections again, maybe they'll have learned their lesson!" - non-voting racist sexist "democrats" in the USA

The next 4 years will be the most difficult for years so far....
