But then everyone would skip the openers and it would defeat the point of opening for a bigger band to get exposure.

The people who don't want to see openers aren't going to buy their music anyway

You never know. A decent nunber of popular bands started out opening for older, well established ones before they reached that level themselves.

It wouldn't be everyone but even if it was, so what? If no one is interested in seeing an opening band it doesn't mean they should fuck with the schedule so they can make people watch them anyways just so they can get famous.

Not that I go to concerts at all anymore anyways because fuck the live nation/ticket master monopoly.
