I went to drop a box of stuff off to the new place today, and checked the letterbox. Fuck me it must've been empty for a while, there were easily about 75 letters/junkmail/magnet things crammed in there. I grabbed them out and had a quick flick through them, and it seems that was a bad idea. There were two dead snails living on the mail, having eaten through half of it, and tiny jumping things. Fucking hope they aren't bed bugs or lice or something. Never doing that again. Next time it's all going directly into the bin

I did go and have the most delicious Szechuan chicken curry I think I've ever had though. Too spicy for me, so I got a container to bring it back in. Quite reasonable prices though, I can see myself being lazy and getting curry for tea every night. Only a 10 min walk from the new place

Probably springtails, they’re attracted to damp so probably living in the paper. They’re harmless. Bedbugs wouldn’t live there. They like warm claustrophobic environments and want to be near people.

Smart to be cautious though

Oh, neat, didn't know they were a thing. Hopefully that's all it was

I still chucked my clothes through the wash/drier and washed my hair anyways. I think I'm fine, just gave me a fright!

Put a layer of snail pellets on the base of the letterbox, then cover with a sheet of baking paper cut to size. Should stop any further snail invasions. And keep your mail nice and dry.

Inside the letterbox, or outside?
