i think i agree. data shows a large amount of americans want policies that the left supports, but they want those things because it benefits them, not because they believe in the ethical considerations or the ideals of collectivization. if they are promised by a fascist they'll get those policies as soon as they kick out target minority, then they'll gladly follow the fascist.

Just look at Missouri, votes for minimum wage increases and an abortion amendment but reelected GOP candidates across the board. The dems lost because of a mix of elitism and the fact that they were governing at a time when incumbants globally are being kicked out due to post-covid economies.
