.... To my surprise, the peanuts started saying really nice things about my hair and outfit.

It turnes out they were complimentary nuts.

Could almost have the bartender say "Your nuts".

"Your nuts,” answered the bartender. “Yeah i thought so.” “No your peanuts” said the barkeep. “… they’re complimentary.“
