Sad that elections tear families apart. And that goes for all sides making discussions like this. The moment you stop dialogue you stop the change you want to make. Both pathetic and sad, I hope for a future of coexistance in American families.
At this point cutting toxic people out of your life is going to be important to try and keep your mental health up.
The man screenshotted doesn't seem to want to. He's pathetic and sad, I agree.
I can imagine this happens throughout the USA. All I see are souls to be winned
I hate to inform you that there are people who you can not change. A lot of them.
My father voted trump in 2016, and again in 2020. I have had a “dialogue” going with him about it since 2016. In 2020 my mother moved out. He said that was the worst day of his life. I furthered the dialogue and he put his foot down, not wanting any more political discussions. The day after Election Day he was celebrating the win while listening to the Woodie Guthrie protest music I got him for his birthday. I tried to explain the irony to him, and that was the last time I have spoken to him.
We've had various "dialog" for decades and see where it let us. Down the shitter. If you voted for Trump, you actively voted for a protofascist clown that is about to fuck over not just the US but also the rest of the world - and you think more dialog is going to help, let alone save us? Would you say the same if the example was about people voting for the NSDAP? The only thing you can tell those fascist enablers is to go fuck themselves.
