Yeah, and it allows them to focus for longer than usual, they don't have the same calming effects as us, but there are performance benefits at the right dose for anyone (even non adhd folk)
The research doesn't support that though.
I mean, clearly they're using it for a reason right? They wouldn't be seeking them out if it didn't do something good for their studying.
It provides a feeling of euphoria and thus a sense of confidence.
I think it's a bit more than that. I'm not disagreeing, though, I think most people abusing it also have ADHD. I know I wasn't diagnosed through school and when I found out about stimulants I definitely used them to study.
Self medication is certainly a possibility.
