Dilemma. I am rostered in the office today. Thought I was getting the flu yesterday. Feeling ok today but one side of my throat is quite sore and it's all red. Maybe mild tonsillitis?? Never had that mild tho.. maybe just allergies??

I think I need to WFH to be safe don't I? Bum. I had a whole heap of stuff I need to do in person...

I hate in-between not quite sick. Make a decision body

In my last job there was a solid 9 month period where my employer refused to accept that there was now a third degree of sickness. Instead of just "fit to work" and "not fit to work", there is clearly a new category now - "fit to work, but only from home". Took them a long time to accept that, and many spent sick days.

It is a difficult one to negotiate because there's definitely that third category. But then there's people who insist they can work from home when they are clearly half dead but they are have trouble stopping and there's others who will WFH/take a late start etc at the slightest hint of discomfort - its too hot/cold/I didn't sleep until midnight etc. and they see it as a bit of a rest day. And as someone who has always been type 1 I honestly get really resentful at the second group. And yes this is often a battle of X/millenial vs Z which makes it trickier.
