He argued that the FDC’s policy does not constitute a blanket ban on hormone therapy, despite evidence showing the policy effectively forces the detransition of hundreds of inmates.

Outright cruelty, but that's the point. Nothing is gained by denying medication to those who need it. The intent is to cause misery and suffering, not rehabilitation or a return to society.

Personally, I love my life, I am so happy to be married, supported and thriving. I plan (hope) to live a long healthy life. But I have told my loved ones, if I were ever prevented from taking my hormones, then they need to consider me a suicide risk. It's not glib or threats for attention, it's just the grim reality is existing in my own body is prohibited then I know what it will do to me mentally.
