That's confirmation bias
Not really, while I say that they're "Punishments from God" I"m just being dramatic.
It's obvious the only way Republicans learn is if they're scared into doing it, fear is the only emotion they seem to have afterall.
I was referring to the "humanity will learn to stop electing Republicans" part, saying it's optimistic to expect them to ever do that regardless of what terrible things happen
