Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".

I'll fault them for trying to make the decision for the rest of the community
But at the same time, they started the community here, and it doesn't seem right to dictate to the group running the place what they have to do with it. In any other circumstance, we would trust the mods to have the interests of the community in mind, as they come up with and enforce the rules/code of conduct on their own. And when we no longer trust them, we go somewhere else.
Handing over the reigns to someone else to run the community would be an admirable move, but I don't think it should be a requirement or even an expectation, given that anyone could just choose to start their own alternative community instead and run things however they want. And that's what ended up happening anyways, and what I would prefer to let happen rather than propping up the corpse of LBZ 196.
Iirc, they didnt start the communtiy. Moss volunteered to mod when the admins made a post about the community not being modderated. As far as I see it, they dont deserve to make decisions for the whole community any more than you or I do.
195 and 196 communities existed long before Lemmy was up and running…
