TBF windows has a bad habit of installing updates without your expecting it. I’ve had it shut down on me right when I’m in the middle of something because I probably missed a “we’re gonna update do you want it now/later?” OS popup, and it defaulted to “now”.

Fair enough! Truthfully, I think I managed to escape the brunt of this experience with Windows. I always set my network connection to Metered after every install (started doing this since 8), which prohibits Update from doing its thing.
