Don Mclean wrote a song about his ex wife who divorced him for abusing her, it's called The Meanest Girl and the lyrics are laughably childish. I can't hear American Pie the same after this tbh, and he deserves to have this song stain his reputation just because I had to hear it (and y'know that whole abuse thing) so I post it every time he's mentioned.
That’s the dumbest song I’ve ever heard. Straight up, it sounds like something that someone would write about their “ex” in middle school. I hope I can compartmentalize about this, because Vincent is a lovely song, but I feel such vicarious joy for this woman at getting out that it might be worth it to ruin a song.
Yeah it's so bad. Like, as in "he's a terrible person" but also the lyrics are just flat out bad. I know he's rich as a one hit wonder and all, but I think one of the wildest things is did none of his team say "Yo Don, this song fucking sucks" really?
