Pretty sure there is a core of truth in that but the other side is also true. Where I live, the youth has no other input then tiktok and getting owned on tiktok is equal to getting owned politically.
Of course this means you should not engage in endless political debates. Still it is highly beneficial to debate online to hone your thoughts so you can articulate them well.
Imo the right mix does the trick. Spread what you think is important, keep your feed free of trolls and misinformation, get out there with your sign and march with the others. Organize online to find likeminded people, etc.
