A community for discussing events around the World
Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF 10/19
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

No, the ones who vote for Netanyahu‘s Likud and other right wingers are mostly Mizrahi from the Middle East and North Africa. Ashkenazi are more likely to vote left or centrist parties.
Don’t know what you mean by hardcore Zionist, as there’s not really a political movement named like that.
You fell victim to propaganda and framing tailored to your western prejudices.
This is the political movement they are referring to.
Where do Netanyahu and likud Party come from again? Where was the birthplace of reactionary Zionism?
You mean Netanyahu's parents.
Where were Ben Gvir's parents from?
The majority of Likud, Shas and Ben Gvir voters are Mizrahi Jews.
Israeli Mizrahi Jews in general tend to be more right wing in general.

So I noticed you didn't answer the question. Because we both know the answer. Reactionary Zionism, which is the group you pretend not to understand the origins of, completely comes of European ancestry. The likud party has its Origins entirely from reactionary Zionism and the European Jews.. The fact that they've got a lot of people to vote against their interests doesn't change the fact of who they are and where they came from. Nor who their leadership primarily is made of.
( also that article pretty much refutes your point)
You wrote it again, but do you mean Revisionist Zionism? I didn't pretend, as it's completely irrelevant.
You wrote that the hardcore Zionist tends to be European. You were corrected that it isn't true today.
You should clarify yourself if you meant something else.
The article points out Mizrahi are more right wing.
Likud's voters are still mostly Mizrahi, even if less Mizrahi are voting for them as compared to the past.
And it isn't the only right wing party or the most extreme one. Ben Gvir's party is worse and also has mostly Mizrahi voters.
I haven't managed to find the articles that talked about the last election in the context of Mizrahi Jews, but you can go through the last election result map and see the places where the Likud got the highest percentages are almost all Mizrahi dominated.
And vote against their interests in which way?
Third time. Just don't want to admit that the ones driving the train, that they brag about being on time I'm sure, tend to be the European ones. Your article even mentioned how the leaders of the likud party tended to be white. But you don't want to admit it for some reason. Curious.
Are you asking how fascism is against the interest of all people? I would assume that self-explanatory I'm concerned you need it explained.
What you originally wrote doesn't imply only leaders.
The current leaders of Zionist parties that are part of the government are, Netanyahu, Smotrich, Ben Gvir and Arie Deri. That's 2 Ashkenazis and 2 Mizrahis.
They voted for the Likud mostly because of the racism they experienced. That resulted in much more Mizrahi Jews in places of power and the shrinking of the gap between Ashkenazi and Mizrahi Jews.
Justifiable or not, that clearly worked in their interest.
But clearly you're just looking to attack people, so I'm wasting my time.
Netanyahu was born in Tel Aviv.
What’s that supposed to be? Do you mean revisionist Zionism?
No I mean reactionary Zionism. As in the most radical reactionary wing of revisionary Zionism. As in the likud party. As in the ones who kept working with the Nazis even after World War II started. Those motherfuckers.
What are you referring to?
Likud didn’t exist until the 1970s. There are far more extreme parties than Likud. Smotrich and Ben Gvir are not Likudniks for example.
God damn man how much Israeli history do I have to teach you here? Do you think the likud party sprang up from nothing? Did you think it came from like the primordial ooze fully formed? My God man. Do some basic reading please. Learn about the Herut and the Irgun. Learn about Menachem Begin. Learn about the Lehi and Yitzhak Shamir.
Good Lord, talking to you is like talking to these anti-dei people who think that history of race relations in America started in 2008. Ignoring the previous 400 years rather taints the argument.
I know more about these things than your propagandized distortions.
Lol, k.
