Fun fact: The iPhone name is owned by Cisco not Apple.
They own "iOS" (though written with all capital) and license it to Apple iirc
They owned ‘iPhone’ specifically.

They also both basically said “we can both use it.” Granted Apple probably paid a nice sum for that
