Summary

Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy had a heated argument during an Oval Office meeting that ended with Zelenskyy leaving without signing a planned bilateral agreement.

Despite the diplomatic breakdown, Ukrainians rallied around Zelenskyy, praising him for standing firm on Ukraine's interests against pressure from Trump and JD Vance, who criticized him for lacking gratitude for previous U.S. support.

While Moscow officials were delighted by the apparent rift, many Ukrainians viewed Zelenskyy as defending their country's dignity during the 3-year Russian invasion.

He should now offer rare earth minerals to the EU.

The absolute funniest outcome would be Ukraine offering the same deal to the EU and the EU counteroffering with "how about you offer us half that because supporting you benefits us all"

Hell... Why not EU membership with no mineral rights?

Even taking Russia out of the equation, Europe would greatly benefit from Ukraine producing minerals and selling them to their allies at a fair rate.

Actually I'd like amend my "funniest thing" claim.

It would be the BEST if the EU offered membership and protection in exchange for 100% of Ukraine's "raw earth" with a line in the contract recognizing that such a thing does not exist

Fuck yes! But also ask for a defensive military presence.

Pretty sure they're already working on it

EU membership includes a defense alliance. UA "just" has to join the EU. Unfortunately the country (economy and social systems) is not yet ready for that.

Absolutely. I'm willing to bet that's what will happen after the EU meeting he's going to attend.
