It does. You have to select "include prereleases" cause its not in 1.0 yet

It's an alpha so you have to enable the "include preview versions" toggle
Using the url field works for me but only until 0.0.6 Edit: ~~Latest release probably have issues with my dumb redmi phone~~
The version of the 0.0.7 release seems messed up. Obtainium doesn't seem to successfully update and when I install the 0.0.7 apk manually, inside the app it still shows 0.0.6.
Obtainium has a setting just for issues like this.
Click on Infinity for Reddit in the app >click edit button bottom left > change Version Detection option to Use Release Date As Version

The developer didn't update the version string for 0.0.7. Known issue.
That's the kind of thing that should've been automated in the dev's CI/CD pipeline.
You're not incorrect. Probably all will be fixed in time.
