For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

To be quite frank, you don't need to afford any of those things to not be obese.

I am in good shape, literally writing this from the gym. If you're making minimum wage, work excessive hours in a sedentary job, live in a food desert and have shitty genes it's incredibly difficult to not be obese. But that's besides the point of the thread, I'd rather not get into it

Really is the shortest you can sum up the reality of it. (w/o dismissing agency of course, but this crowd gets it)

Doesn't really matter either way. It's none of our business, their body isn't harming anyone else. Criticize the things they actually do wrong, never their body.

I'm not saying this because I have any compassion for Musk. I just think we should get past body shaming, and that won't work unless we make it so body shaming is NEVER ok.

Yeah sorry I think I replied to the wrong part of the thread

To be quite frank, you are very ignorant. It's the same as saying you don't need right conditions to be a billionaire, just catch your moment. Or that you don't need to afford any of these to grow a 3-meter dick.

Problems with eyesight and weak muscles and what not also depend on genes a lot.

I can understand you don't personally see anything morally wrong with Elon Musk, but people around hate him, so must find some reason to join the herd.

Wow buddy, back up. I said that you don't need to afford a personal trainer and chef in order to not be obese, and you concluded that I don't see anything morally wrong with Musk?

Let's make one thing perfectly clear: I'll mark the day Musk dies on a calendar and celebrate it each year.

Go touch some grass.

I said that you don’t need to afford a personal trainer and chef in order to not be obese

And you are wrong, it's usually genetic predisposition more than anything else.

Let’s make one thing perfectly clear: I’ll mark the day Musk dies on a calendar and celebrate it each year.

Suppose there's a person thinking obese people just don't try hard enough, or that people with bad eyesight should just eat more carrots, or that people with ADHD should just eat more fish. Why would such a person see anything wrong with Musk? Actually they shouldn't.
