The share of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents who believe that President Joe Biden’s 2020 election win was not legitimate has ticked back up, according to a new CNN poll fielded throughout July. All told, 69% of Republicans and Republican-leaners say Biden’s win was not legitimate, up from 63% earlier this year and through last fall, even as there is no evidence of election fraud that would have altered the outcome of the contest.

Cool. So your gf is queer. She can inform you.

Lastly, Trump isn't pro-gay marriage. He's just pro whatever gets him attention. Surrounding himself with a bunch of homophobes and transphobes doesn't make him pro-gay.

2016 GOP platform calls for a ban on same sex marriage. That's anti-gay. Voting for any Republican is anti-gay. Not sure how you can't understand that. Maybe, again, ask your "queer" gf.

Cool. So your gf is queer. She can inform you.

I'm just asking you to back up your comments, it seems like you are incapable of it.

Lastly, Trump isn’t pro-gay marriage

He ran on a platform that included being pro-gay marriage. If you want to stick to your single issue voting record, you should've voted for trump back in 2016. See how quickly your 'logic' falls apart, when you actually learn about positions of candidates? Once again, if you know anyone that voted for obama in 08, you should cut them out of your life.

That’s anti-gay.

Sure, I don't support their platform. I can support candidates, though.

Voting for any Republican is anti-gay.

Nope, plenty of republicans are pro-gay. I just showed you, Obama was anti-gay marriage, and Trump was pro gay marriage.

Not sure how you can’t understand that.

I keep showing you how you're wrong, but you keep pearl clutching. You don't want to have an informed vote, you want to yell at one side, which is fine, but stop trying to act like you're so holy when you can't even tell me what rights you're trying to preserve.

You refuse to answer the most basic question of your stance: What right do I, an asian man, have that my queer girlfriend (or if you don't want to compare me to her, you can use yourself as you've identified as queer) has.

As you requested, I have asked my queer GF, and she says we have the same rights. So I'm curious about the gap of understanding between you and her. Please clarify, because as a result of your wishy washy statements, your changing views and your persistence of saying that you don't have the same rights (or the rights are under threat), despite providing no back up to that statement, is extremely confusing.

For one you don't have to look over your shoulder when holding your partner's hand in public. You don't have politicians calling you a pedo. You could have married her at any point. You don't have to worry about losing your job or housing for being queer depending on where you live. You don't have to worry about your kids being taken away from you because you're gay and your state doesn't think your kids are safe.

I'm really surprised at how ignorant your gf is about que er issues. Are you sure she's queer or did she just kiss a girl once.

Tru.p state department appealed federal ruling recognizing the citizenship of a girl born to a gay couple.

Trump banned trans folks from serving in the army.

Trump remixes anti-discrimination protections from HHS.

Trump admin adopted regulation that gender is biological sex, it isn't.

Trump blamed the Orlando Pulse shooting on radical Islam when it was a home grown mass murderer.

Trump SCOTUS noms are hostile to gay equality and advocate ridiculous religious liberty arguments.

Trump's VP supported conversation therapy, which is torture.

Trump rescinded protections for gay workers, so they could be fired just for being gay.

Trump admin argued Civil Rights Act doesn't protect queer people.

Trump fired the WH Office of National AIDS Policy. He also ignored the impact HIV/AIDS had on the LGBTQ community on World AIDS Day.

As for Obama, I'm happy Biden pushed him to support gay marriage. I cried when I saw that announcement. I can't fault people for voting for a candidate who didn't support SSM when no-one supported SSM.

As for your gf. She's either lying or just pretending to be queer for the clout.

Edit: I can see from your post history you lack critical analysis of history and historical trends. That you are unnecessarily pedantic and willfully obtuse. You should stick to numbers.

For one you don’t have to look over your shoulder when holding your partner’s hand in public.

Is that a right?

You don’t have politicians calling you a pedo.

I'm a conservative asian in a very liberal city. I've been called every sort of name. Does that mean conservative asians don't have rights?

You could have married her at any point.

No, there was a time when interracial marriage was illegal.

You don’t have to worry about losing your job or housing for being queer depending on where you live.

That's illegal. Once again, you and I have the same rights, you're not proving your point at all.

You don’t have to worry about your kids being taken away from you because you’re gay and your state doesn’t think your kids are safe.

Where is this an issue?

I’m really surprised at how ignorant your gf is about que er issues. Are you sure she’s queer or did she just kiss a girl once.

Are you the lord of queers and you deem who is actually queer or not? She's very involved in the community, she just doesn't lie like you do.

You listed all of these, but you can't name one single right that I have that you don't.

Just tell me one right, man. You keep beating around the bush and trying to dig up things you don't like. That doesn't mean someone is trying to take away your rights. It's really simple: List one right that I, a straight person, has that you don't.

[–] archiotterpup@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lol, you can legally be fired for being gay in KY, TX, NC, TN, GA and so on. You only can't see it because you live in a liberal state where that is illegal. You can't be fired for being Asian

That's a right you have that I don't.

That's a fact you cannot refute.

Yes, kids can be taken from queer and queer supporting families. FL passed a law this year allowing the state to take trans kids away from their parents if they receive the proper medical care under AMA and APA guidelines.

You are arguing in bad faith. If your gf was involved in any community work she would have informed you about this. So I am to assume you don't have a gf or she's she's calling herself queer after kissing one girl in hs. Your appeal to authority is irrelevant.

[–] MasterObee@lemmy.world -1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lol, you can legally be fired for being gay in KY, TX, NC, TN, GA and so on

I was actually unaware of is, what law allows this?

You can’t be fired for being Asian

Oh you're just talking about 'protected classes'?

That’s a right you have that I don’t.

Can I get fired for being straight?

Yes, kids can be taken from queer and queer supporting families. FL passed a law this year allowing the state to take trans kids away from their parents if they receive the proper

If parents are mutilating kids bodies, I don't understand how the parents should be able to keep their kids.

You are arguing in bad faith.

No I'm not, just because you have to make up answers doesn't mean it's in bad faith.

If your gf was involved in any community work she would have informed you about this.

She's very involved with the community, we went to my first pow wow and it was 2s themed this summer!

So I am to assume you don’t have a gf or she’s she’s calling herself queer after kissing one girl in hs. Your appeal to authority is irrelevant.

Oh, so we can just deny people their sexual identity now? You're not queer.

[–] archiotterpup@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

So, I've concluded you're just ignorant about queer issues.

What law allows people to be fired for being gay? The absence of laws prohibiting that. You're not very good at research. You could have just googled that. I assume you didn't look into it yourself because it challenges your world view.

Yes, race is a protected class. Sexual orientation is not.

Clearly you don't understand what transitioning means. In the US the AMA, APA, and AAP all support medical transitioning for adolescents. That does not include surgery. Again, this is an easy Google search you don't want to do because it will challenge your world view.

Going to a pow wow is going to a pow wow. If you gf is 2s, that's cool. I doubt it, because she would be aware of many of the issues I've brought up.
