I'm a "patient gamer" and tend to hold off until a game is severly discounted, especially if its mired with a billion DLCs and other 'value adds'.
I didn't really think twice about throwing Larian full retail, good practices should be rewarded
i'm tempted. but i think the stupid download size puts me off as much as price.
i am glad i splurged on the biggest steamdeck, but still running out of space now .
i just need a low-res download option.

Definitely agree. I have a huge backlog so it's hard for me to justify. But... Yeah lol, there are certainly games you break that rule. I also feel that way about Zelda and will instant buy the next one. TOTK was amazing.
