Of course Reddit won't shut down. Neither Tumblr nor Yahoo did. It never was the point.
Let's just hope the users who came here for the time the storm pass will find the content they want, or the patience for time their community grows.
Let's enjoy Lemmy for what it is. An opportunity for a restart of what we loved so much on Reddit, with the comforting feeling that no one will ever be able to corrupt it.
Wow, the fediverse at work: I posted on kbin and you're replying from lemmy! This is awesome!
Oh?! That's so cool. I have to admit I didn't expect that.
You can't even tell. I figured I was talking to people from Kbin, cause that's where I am. Turns out most of you are on lemmy. It's seamless a lot of the time.
@joneskind@lemmy.world now wait until you see that i'm replying here from a self hosted calckey instance! ^^
Strongly agree with both yours and OP's sentiments. There's little use dwelling on Reddit now, and we have something really special starting here on Lemmy / Kbin / the Fediverse.
It's been great to see various communities grow and adapt to the changes since this all took off.
