We had over 5k come out at our major city and there was zero local coverage. Only AP showed up.

Not surprising. AP always reports what happened. Not saying they’re unbiased and don’t receive support from the ultra-wealthy, but them and Reuters are always reliable sources
Then you shoot video, and post it. We don't need permission from the media, we own the Internet, and the Internet is everywhere.
The local coverage for my area was shit too. Disappointing.
