Wow that's super interesting. I just signed up for Lemmy last month and I just googled what to sign up for and .Ml was the first one that came up. Fuck tankies and fuck commies so I guess I'm definitely going to get lumped into them for now. Oh well

Believe it or not there are communists that aren't authoritarian bootlickers. I feel bad for them having to overcome the tankies image problem
Yeah but 98% of the self identified communists you find on Lemmy are actually just Tankies. Part of it is that most reasonable folk would rather call themselves a democratic socialist than a communist, as the latter has become entrenched in the philosophy of the USSR.
