That's like the humble brag of toxic traits

It's pretty toxic to be too shy for self care. A la The Giving Tree. That tree had issues.
Not on this level though, this is like the nice version of a white little white lie. Except instead of being an inconsequential amount of deception, it's making someone else feel better about themselves on a regular basis.
