Rules:

- No memes, trolling, misinformation, or low-effort posts/comments (including reposts). If you see posts like this that anger you, do not engage. Report, block, and live a happier life than they do. Any slap-fight is subject to comment removals. Fights full of rule violations will result in temporary bans to cool off.
- No manipulating votes via bots or alt accounts; this will result in permanent bans. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in an account ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be permanently banned.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules and use critical thinking when reading, posting, and commenting. Users that repeatedly have comments or posts removed, weaponize reports, or violate the code of conduct, will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Probably the fact that if the NYU staffers pushing this are any smart, they'll withhold the degrees for a few weeks (maybe even months) after the exam or until the protests die down anyway. Sure, they're bound to do something incredibly stupid right after, but they've got what they've got.
What about renouncing them officially but then attending protests a few blocks down while wearing masks?
Masks don't really provide anonimity (you'd need to accompany with anti-IR glasses to protect yourself from iris scans, and probably prostethics for your face as well as your legs to avoid gait recognition from camera footage), and they do nothing if you are grabbed by an ICEtard.
But yeah in the overall, I don't really see a problem with renouncing them "officially" (just strike an X on the signature, you can later claim that that was not your signature and was forced under duress) and participating on the protests anyway. It's not like lawyers are expected to not lie and trick their way out of things under capitalism anyway, so perhaps the students (and the faculty) should consider this as an extra period test.
