I think it's opposite, it will cover the industry in shit that someone will have to clean up.

Only web and information exchange. Hardware and critical systems are intact. Web and information needs better place than browsers from a long time. That's why I am betting on fediverse, but I don't think that's enough.

Yeah, same as crafts-people now.
Assembly lines increased minimum quality while reducing the maximum quality and caused a scarcity of people learning to make stuff themselves.

So now the people that do, get paid more per amount of work. IDK how much work they get though.
